Azou Restaurant Reviews

“Six of the best…..” Spicing is one of the things that
differentiates the cooking of Morocco from that of its
neighbours. Azou Benarab, at his restaurant notes the
broadly French influence on Algeria, the Italian on Tunisia,
an the Spanish on Morocco (more saffron here, for example).
The preparation & consistency of couscous also differs from
one country to another.
Jay Rayner, The Observer Magazine

24th September EmmB : "wonderful food and service, the decor & musice creates an atmosphere that is a world away from Chiswick High St!  We will be back!"

DR 12th JUNE 09    Superb food, superb service, very good value, thoroughly enjoyable evening, unique and original menu, will definitely be back and would recommend very highly for a casual dinner

Jonathon 6th Nov 09 :  Azou - a perfectly nice little place. Good food, great service, and a nice atmosphere..

VS 24 Oct 09: Azou in Hammersmith is a very welcoming place - the staff were very polite on arrival and throughout our meal. The food was great and the service was very good. If you like north African cuisine, go for it!

AB 2 May 09  Azou in Hammersmith is quite a find. Small and intimate, with a great ambience. We were unfamiliar with Moroccan cuisine, but the proprietors were extremely helpful in explaining the different dishes and the best wines. The wine and food are excellent, authentic and beautifully presented. This is a good place for a quiet dinner for two, or for a group of friends, who will enjoy sharing the different dishes.

PJ 1st Oct 08 The food is fantastic, especially the lamb tajine with almonds, prunes and apricots. Probably the best hummus ever for starters. Nice decor and a waiter with a sense of humour. Can't wait to go back, fantastic value for money.

As always, Azou is a local restaurant with great food and staff. I particularly recommend anything involving lamb.

Azou was another great find. Staff made us feel right at home
the moment we walked in the door. The lamb shank is highly
recommended and the spicy prawns were done perfectly.
Probably one of the best priced London restaurants we've been to in quite a while. Will definately recommend.

Have been to Azou a few times and have enjoyed each experience more than the last. Keep it up

I think this is my favourite restaurant in London. Everything here works perfectly for what it is (i.e., a small, cozy family restaurant). Do go here for a great all around experience.

AB 01/06/09 Last Saturday I brought my brother and his girlfriend to Azou because I knew we would get great food and great service, and we were certainly not disappointed. I have been to Azou several times and you can always be sure to get food of top quality.

PA 25 Apr 09  We had an excellent meal at Azou in Hammersmith. The food was great and the service was very good. Lovely place to spend an evening.

We had an excellent meal at Azou in Hammersmith. The food was great and the service was very good. Lovely place to spend an evening.A welcome return visit to AZOU for me. I wanted my wife to see how good it is. Both agreed we'll go again. We went on a cold Tuesday evening but got a warm welcome. We shared some starters, of which the spicy prawns were especially enjoyed. I then had grilled lamb, which was succulent & tasty. My wife had a fish tagine, which was full of flavour (& fish!) Our friend had one of the lamb shank tagines which was tender and which he enjoyed. Service was helpful & timely but not pushy. Back soon!

have eaten at Azou many times and it never fails to impress me with the quality and quantity of its food and with the superb service that is always provided. The ambiance is very relaxing and contributes to a really lovely dining and socialising experience. I have been a guest as a member of a team meal where there were 12 of us and as a member of a party of 2 and both of these types of experiences have
been equally satisfying. It's one place I never hesitate to recommend!
